A self-initiated mural, made to explore a new pattern. Every dot was applied with a roller head, building dense fields of texture over soft spray gradients. Fades of orange, violet, green and blue sit underneath, while hard black shapes cut through and hold the composition together. The result sits somewhere between graffiti, print and pattern design. Working with an unconventional tool keeps the mark-making loose and unpredictable, and opens up new textures for future walls. The technique scales easily and suits commissioned murals for laneways, facades, shopfronts and interiors.
